WELCOME
I’m Kate...

(she/her)

Kingfisher

Whether you are looking for counselling for yourself and wondering if I might be the right counsellor for you, or wondering what counselling is about or maybe looking for a counselling supervisor. I hope that this site can give you an overview of how I may be able to support you, how I work and what counselling or therapy can be like with me.

My approach is collaborative and trauma responsive.  I believe that counselling and therapy are built upon trust, authenticity, kindness and hope.  It is a space of shared humanity, courage and transparency.  Together, we’ll explore what matters most to you, what might be getting in the way of how you would like to feel and and create room for the parts of you that want to feel lighter, braver, or more at peace.

You don’t have to come with polished words or perfect answers. This is a space where you can laugh, cry, whatever is true for you in the moment. My role is to listen deeply, gently challenge you when it helps, and walk alongside you while you discover what it means to feel more fully yourself.  So that you can become more free to express joy in your successes, and to acknowledge your most difficult moments without shame.

I’m a qualified, trauma-responsive counsellor and psychotherapist. I work with adults in person, online, and by phone.  I also offer supervision to trainee and qualified counsellors.  I work privately and I work with a variety of organisations providing counselling and therapy to their clients.

My approach draws from person-centred therapy, depth psychology, relational and trauma-informed practice, and compassionate self-inquiry. I want to meet you where you are, help you to remember your way back to yourself and support you in healing old wounds so you can live with more freedom, joy, and ease.

If you’d like to know more, you’ll find details about my approach, background, and practical things like fees on this site. And if you’re ready to start, you can reach me via the contact form for an initial chat.

With Kate as my counsellor, I felt truly seen and understood for the first time. She has helped me to figure out my true essence whilst also encouraging me to embrace it. With her kind, gentle and patient approach, I was able to work through my feelings at my own pace. Kate responded to my difficult experiences delicately, thoughtfully and in a non-judgemental manner and so it always felt safe to be vulnerable. I found her sensitive and creative approach to life inspiring, and many of her pockets of wisdom have stayed with me to this day.  I would highly recommend her.

Our work could look like:

  • Deepening communication and relationship skills

  • Recovering from trauma from a wide range of experiences including abuse and violence

  • Understanding the trait of high sensitivity

  • Tending loss, grief and bereavement

  • Navigating significant life changes and transitions

  • Working with extraordinary, anomalous and spiritual experiences

  • Exploring ecological grief, deep adaptation and collapse awareness

  • Nourishing the soul through meaningful, transformative dialogue

  • Entering the landscapes of dreams and imagination for insight and healing

  • Healing generational wounds and making peace with family roots

  • Listening inwardly to the voice of intuition and inner guidance

  • Reconnecting with your indigenous soul and its sacred ties to spirit, nature, and the more-than-human world

  • Tending the creative flame and aligning with your deeper calling

  • Creating rituals and practices that anchor and enrich your life

Sessions

Sessions are 50 minutes long and are available on Zoom, telephone or in person in Cemaes and Machynlleth, Mid Wales.

At the beginning of our work together I provide a written working agreement, also known as a counselling contract, so that everything is clear.

This is an invitation to slow down and reconnect with yourself, experience being met with respect and presence and allow healing to unfold through therapeutic relationship.

Not sure what you need?

That's okay! I understand.  Please feel free to book a casual 20 minute consultation to find out more.
